Welcome
People come to therapy looking for solutions to real-world problems. My therapeutic approach is interactive, strength-based and practical. Using empathy, humor, and an objective perspective, I will collaborate with you to develop an effective, down-to-earth approach to your current life challenges, as well as long-standing personal concerns that you may have. My job is to assist you in using your own self-knowledge to draw on your unique strengths and personal resources to respond to your challenges. We'll work together to put problems into a workable perspective and to create a realistic plan for addressing those problems.
Using this approach, I have successfully helped clients with anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, career challenges, parenting concerns, or just feeling stuck. I also have expertise in coping with ADHD and executive functioning issues. I have worked extensively with college students experiencing academic or emotional difficulties, and helping young adults transition into adult life management. I have also helped adults with other life transition challenges: grief, divorce, empty nest or retirement, career changes. The focus of therapy is attentive, respectful emotional management, and attention to actively living your values.
